Les recherches actuelles de Catherine Sifakis portent sur les mutations de la sphère financière - globalisation financière, financiarisation des économies - et leurs incidences sur les économies européennes et les stratégies des acteurs. Son travail de recherche est axé plus particulièrement sur : les liens entre globalisation financière et construction européenne, la financiarisation des stratégies des entreprises européennes ainsi que les effets de la globalisation financière au niveau des stratégies des banques coopératives.
