Déterminants de l’inflation et son impact sur la croissance économique : le cas du Liban.
Membres du jury
Abstract : inflation is a subject that has attracted widespread attention from economists and politicians around the world. Despite the abundant literature on the relationship between inflation and economic growth in developing countries, no research has been conducted in the case of Lebanon. However, our study fills this gap. To this end, several objectives are achieved in this thesis. The first is to try to review the characteristics of the Lebanese economy, in a full economic and monetary crisis, dominated by services and imports since 1990. Then, we are interested in the threshold from which inflation has exerted a negative effect on growth in Lebanon. Next, we will try to study the factors that put pressure on inflation through two periods (before and after the crisis); it is more specifically a question of demonstrating that inflation in Lebanon is a monetarist factor. Finally, is to see the update of inflation at the global level through a panel of several countries according to their type of income.
